Being in Naples, Florida is an absolute wonder. There is much to do and so many fun activities for the entire family. And as the years roll on things only get better as there will be much more in store for family fun in Naples, Florida. We’re talking about the upcoming Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park. This will become a whopping 150 acre park with a multipurpose field, sports centers, playgrounds and even a lake. This staggering endeavor would cost an estimated of 160 million USD to build. This is a tremendously ambitious project that is set to be complete by 2020.
The park will be located at 825 39th Ave NE, Naples, 34120 and there had been already a lot of work and planning put into this, as a ribbon cutting ceremony happened sometime in as early as 2012. Basically, the construction will be divided in two phases. Phase one will be the part that’s right next to where the Collier County Fair and Exposition takes place and after phase one is functional, phase two will then be constructed directly south of phase one and this is where the lake will be located.
The park will be surrounded by grass and trees that will help in the relaxation and enjoyment of every visitor but most of the amenities in the park will include sports-related areas. In phase one section of the construction there will be pools for those who’d like to train in swimming, a basketball court for the next NBA star and there will also be a tennis court that would perhaps hone the skills of a future grand slammer. But one of the highlights in phase 1 would be a massive open-air multipurpose field that can be used in almost anything, including big concerts that would expect a huge number of attendees.
Phase two would seem more interesting as it will feature an indoor complex where indoor sports can take place then a small outdoor event lawn that’s between the lake and the woods. This will be perfect for more intimate events like poetry reading perhaps. But the biggest field that will be in phase two would probably be the softball field where important matches can occur and this will have good view of the lake too. A section of the lake will most likely be used for jets and watersports as well. This is great for those who like to ride jet skis and water jetpacks. This lake can even potentially be a venue for the next Watercross World Championships. The Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park is a place to look forward to.
