The Everglades has a unique natural terrain. Here, you’ll find sawgrass that are dry in the winter but are submerged in shallow water come summer. It has swooning coastal praeries with desert plants that lead to Ten Thousand Islands. Pinelands and magrove forests dot the landscape with panthers and alligators that rule all over them.  Discover the lands either through boat or kayaking or maybe by simply walking along the partially sumberged grass and be amazed by its sheer beauty. Truly,  journeying across the wild fields and the mysterious islands of the Everglades is one epic adventure, to say the least.

On Land

Everglades National Park Gulf Coast Visitor Center is the venue designated for all tourists wishing to visit the Ten Thousand  Islands. The center acts as sort of an information center where you’ll get all the information plus interesting to see exhibits that tell about the area. This northwestern entrance into the park is the gatreway into Ten Thousand Islands. Once your past it, you will immediately be welcomed by osprey, dolphin and manatee as you mount up at the ranger station. This will then lead you to The Range which is one of the largest mangrove forests in the Everglades. You then have to climb onboard a boat to see the rest of this beautiful preserve.

On Water

The Everglades National Park features a 90 -minute boat tour that braves through the complicated maze of mangroves and gets lost in its gorgeousness. Park rangers and concessions naturalists explain the sights along the way, pointing out roseate spoonbills and the  chubby manatees that you may encounter.

Want to see things more up close? Let Everglades Kayak Fishing take you kayak fishing. It would take days to paddle to the areas that the “mothership” shuttles kayakers and kayaks to in short trips. Near the heart of the waterways, there’s a fishing spot there that’s great for both beginners and experienced fishers. Watching the lines highlighted by the sun and hurtling through the air to plop into the water’s surface gives a quiet satisfaction to anyone who does it. You can plan a trip here with family or with friends or alone. There’s even an option where you can join a group of open fishing clubs and hang out with them.

Shuttles can take you from fresh and murky waters to the saltwater by the open sea. We followed snook on the beaches and redfish in the oyster bars. Charters customizes trips to interest and experience levels, guiding anglers in everything from casting to selecting among artificial baits. They’ll even pull the fish off the line for you if you found it difficult to pull that catch out of the water.

Water adventures are great here in the Everglades. And adventures on land are no less exciting as well. Fun in the Everglades is sure to take everyone into the boat rides of their life. Here, you can fish all kinds of game and take them with you for a nice barbecue after a long day of trekking in the woods. It’s all worth it.
