Florida’s Paradise Coast; the name alone already sounds beautiful. But it doesn’t end there because the place sure looks beautiful too. This heavenly coast comprises of the resort cities of Naples and Marco Island, the classic and traditional small towns of Everglades city, the lush agricultural settlements of Immokalee, the various state and national parks, wildlife reserves and community parks, and of course, let’s not forget the 30 plus miles of purely gorgeous white sand beaches and heart-stopping sunsets.
With everything that’s going on in the region, one might ask what would be the best things to do in the area when you have a limited amount of time. We have gathered some, hopefully, helpful tips that might offer some ideas as to what to do if time is not a luxury.
Head for the beach
The white sands and the foamy waves of the beaches of Naples, Florida have an incessant appeal to people from different walks of life. The Naples Pier is open 24/7 and has lots of seawater, white sand and seabirds to offer. It is famous locally for watching sunsets and spending the evening in. This historic pier went into some serious renovations in 2015, and now it’s got more amenities like bathrooms, guardrails and a new boardwalk for both the convenience and safety of all who visit. The place itself is near a high-end subdivision and there are no high-rise buildings nearby, so this gives you a clear view of the sky and the horizon. The best part is that it’s free.
However, if you’re the type who likes to meet the sand the moment you step out of your hotel building, there are beaches that are definitely worth seeing. You can try Barefoot beach that’s located north of Naples and south of Bonita Spring. It’s a wonderful nature preserve that’s also great for paddling and kayaking and just admiring the mangrove forests. Going to the beach doesn’t take much preparation. So if you’re a backpacker who’s on the go, you might want to consider this option.
See the Animals
The Naples Zoo is a 52-acre paradise for animals. This Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums so you can be sure that the animals are treated with utmost care. The Zoo constantly adds new and interesting exhibits for kids and family to enjoy. Here, you can meet Uno, the giant Florida panther and the Fosas and Lemurs of Madagascar as well as tigers from Malaysia, the monkeys that run free along the trees and so much more. You can simply drop by and make a quick tour if you’re in a hurry and your eyes will still be filled with all the nice things that you are about to see.
Arts
Naples has since been dubbed the number one Small Art Town in America. This lively city hosts more than 100 galleries from talented artists from the local and international art scene. There are painters as well as photographers who exhibit the natural landscape of this divine region. There are theatre acts and museums as well that offer the much needed enjoyment that stimulates your intellect and most of all, it doesn’t take up much of your time.
The prestige this region has is boundless. The natural and man-made wonders are always a sight to behold. Even if you are short in time, there will still be so much for you to do and so many things to see that every minute you spend here is definitely worth it.
