There is always a profound yet simple joy that we feel in our hearts whenever we can take our own pets out for a walk. Our pets have a special place in our hearts. And sometimes we wish we can take them with us when we’re out for a stroll. Fortunately, in Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades, there are many spots where we can take our furry friends around. Naples is generally a pet-loving city, and so there are hotels, parks and beach areas where you and your four-legged best friend can take a lovely walk.
Dog Parks
So, since you and your pooch need exercise, try the Naples Dog Park or what the residents like to call “The Central Bark”. This 1.35 acre fenced playground courtesy of the government of Naples is a great haven if you want an open space to play catch with your dog. The place is perfect for small dogs and you can have your pets detached from their leash in certain areas. There’s an awesome picnic area, drinking fountains, benches, sidewalks and an overall lush and green feel to the area. The park is open to non-residents but all dogs should be registered first. But the best part is that access to this area is free of charge so this means you can run around with your dog to your heart’s content.
The Farmer’s Market
The Farmer’s Market also welcomes dogs in their place. The boutiques and shops usually don’t mind if you bring your dog along with you so long as they behave like the good dogs that they are. Then you can treat yourself to the local fruit and vegetable goods that are sold all around while your dog munches on some nice doggy treats at a nearby dog tent because he is such a good boy.
Pet-Friendly Hotels
Now we go to the general rules about having pets in the hotels in Naples city and in the surrounding places. You must first inform the hotel staff in advance that you will be bringing your pets with you so that they can make the necessary preparations for your arrival. Also, be sure to take note of the fact that some hotels may have weight restrictions on your pets and other guidelines. However, all hotels require proof of vaccinations before you can take your dogs in for health and security purposes.
Outdoor Activities
Of course your tour around the region would not be complete without breathing in all the natural wonders outdoors. And what better way to do this than to spend it with your best furry friend, right? There are beaches in Naples that have their own marina and you can rent a boat or a kayak and take Fido with you on a trip along the coast or go by boat and go straight to Keewaydin Island. There is also a pet-friendly marsh trail on Marco Island that you can explore while taking your best buddy with you. You and your pal can definitely enjoy the wilderness with all its pine flatwoods, fields of wildflowers, the boardwalks and so much more.
