Naples, Florida is a very festive city all year round. But no matter how many events and festivals there may be, locals and visitors never seem to get bored of them and would just look for more things to celebrate. Such is the life here in the Paradise Coast. No wonder so many choose to retire in this relaxed yet sometimes loud place with all the festivals going on. However, no festival is bigger in Naples, Florida than the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. All green, all clovers, all good. It’s probably the biggest privately funded celebration in Naples, Florida area and it just keeps getting bigger every year.

The parade happens yearly in Fifth Avenue South in downtown Naples. Food, music, stage concerts and parades all filled with the theme of green go out the streets in the downtown area to celebrate. There are motor floats and mascots everywhere in this originally Irish festival. Everything that’s green is littered all over the streets and people are wearing all sorts of green stuff and everything is simply mind blowing. The loud street marching bands and the sheer number of people participating in the event would enough to keep one entertained. But of course there will be more as local bands play awesome tunes and maybe even people here and there looking for that elusive four-leaf clover. There will be chanting and wild fun and, of course, the consumption of alcohol in inordinate amounts.  It will not be a St. Patrick’s Day celebration otherwise. We just have to drink responsibly though and know our limits unless you have plans to become the next Florida Man.

And once you have partied yourselves out in St. Patrick’s Day, why don’t you and your friends head down south about 30 minutes from the downtown area in to perhaps one of the most belly-filling events in the region, the Marco Island Seafood and Music Festival. It is a three-day weekend party filled with fun, music and the freshest and most delectable seafood straight from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the nearby freshwater source. There will be an assortment of fresh fishes, shrimps, crab cakes, lobster and the ever popular Stone Crab. Beer and wine will be served all over to pair with these awesome delights. And for those who brought their kids with them (we hope you guys did not come straight from the St. Patrick’s party – seriously), there will be space for the kids too. The kids zone a bounce house, a slide and simple wall climbing area and some trampoline and more stuff that can get your kid’s attention for a while you sip that wine.
